I picked up this book after watching the first series of the tv show Legends as it was based on this book. Turns out, aside from the main character, the story doesn't have a lot to do with the book's plot line aside from the main character's confusion at times over who he really is.

The main character in the book is an ex CIA agent, Martin Odum/5. Legends, one of DCs major event series from the mids, is back in a new 30th Anniversary Edition. Coming on the heels of the landmark Crisis on Infinite Earths, Legends was a key step in establishing the post-Crisis order for the DC Universe.

The plot had Darkseid attempt to take over Earth by destroying its faith in its superheroes. He staged a couple of high profile incidents to /5.
